Bastianini Secures First At The Motogp Silverstone Sprint

Ducati Lenovo Team’s Enea Bastianini was crowned the winner at Silverstone Sprint of the MotoGP Tissot Sprint race in the Monster Energy British Grand Prix. Thus, becoming the undisputed winner of the race, Bastianini left Jorge Martin, Prima Pramac Racing rider, behind. Still, Martin was able to score important Championship points since points leader Francesco Bagnaia crashed out.

Aleix Espargaro Completes the Podium

The third place at the Silverstone Sprint was hold by Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia Racing though he was contending with the top two. Espargano was able to open a lead over Marc Marquez of Gresini Racing MotoGP who later fell, thus loosing his third overall position in the championship to Bastianini.

Early Race Drama at Silverstone Sprint

As the race began at Silverstone Sprint, Bagnaia made an impressive start, pushing Espargaro wide at Turn 1. However, Martin quickly took the lead. Behind them, Franco Morbidelli and Marco Bezzecchi crashed on the opening lap, both emerging unscathed, but Morbidelli received a double Long Lap penalty for Sunday.

Mid-Race Clashes

Mid-race, there was contact between Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder and Marc Marquez got by them in the process. At the same time, Martin was confidently leaving the others behind, Bastianini, Espargaro, and Bagnaia stayed close to him. The first of the several dramatic moments happened at MotoGP Silverstone Sprint race, when Bagnaia crashed out in the fifth lap. Thus surrendering his Championship advantage.

Bastianini Takes the Lead

Due to this, it was not long before Bastianini took the lead on the 6th lap from a brief tussle with Martin. The Italian rider in the end was able to string together a number of fast laps to gain a small lead over Martin. Leading for Bastianini, the Championship saw that it was becoming closer with Martin and Bagnaia trailing behind.

Final Lap and Standings at the Silverstone Sprint

In the last lap, Bastianini increased the gap and won his maiden MotoGP Sprint race. The Championship standings saw Martin finish second and thus reducing the point’s gap to Bagnaia to one point only. Bastianini is now third in the general classification. Binder and Acosta staved their fight for fourth place and Binder got the better of the place by a thin margin.

Competitive Battle for Points

The fight for seventh place and the final point-scoring positions was intense at the Sprint race. Jack Miller finished just ahead of Maverick Viñales and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Moreover, with Di Giannantonio taking the last point on offer for the day at MotoGP Tissot Sprint Race.
