BMW Group India has reported its best-ever performance in car sales for the first half of 2025. Selling 7,774 BMW and MINI cars along with 2,569 motorcycles between January and June. Further, the brand has firmly reinforced its strong presence in India’s luxury vehicle segment. The focus keyword “BMW sales” reflects this sharp upward trend.

BMW Sales Accelerate with Double-Digit Growth

BMW alone accounted for 7,477 units, while MINI contributed 297 cars to the tally. Each month in the second quarter delivered record-breaking sales, strengthening BMW’s momentum for the year. BMW Motorrad also played a key role, selling 2,569 motorcycles during this period.

Electric Vehicles Spark BMW Sales Momentum

BMW purses to lead the luxury electric vehicle segment in India, with EV sales soar by 234% in the 2 quarters of 2025. A total of 1,322 electric units from both BMW and MINI were sold, pushing EVs to make up 18% of BMW Group India’s total sales.

Leading the electric lineup, the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase topped the EV charts, followed by the BMW i7. The brand’s EV strategy is supported by initiatives such as Smart E-Routing, BMW Destination Charging, and a round-the-clock fast-charging network. At present, BMW has six electric cars and two electric scooters available in India.

BMW Long Wheelbase Cars See Major Uptick

Sales of BMW long wheelbase models experienced a sharp 159% jump in the first half of the year. These models, including the BMW 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1, now make up 47% of BMW’s car deliveries.

The BMW 5 Series emerged as the brand’s best-selling sedan, capturing close to 20% of total car sales. At the same time, the BMW 3 Series continues to lead in the Indian premium sedan market.

BMW Sales Gain with Luxury Class and SAV Models

The BMW Luxury Class, made up of elite vehicles like the BMW 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM, continues to be a strong pillar of growth.The BMW X7 alone has surpassed 5,000 units delivered since its launch.

Meanwhile, BMW Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) recorded a 17% rise in H1 sales. The BMW X1 ensured to lead the SAV segment, by contributing above 30% of the total SAV sales, followed closely by the BMW X5

MINI and Motorrad Maintain Upward Momentum

MINI delivered 297 vehicles in the first half of 2025, with the performance-driven MINI Cooper S leading the charge, posting a 60% year-on-year increase. The electric MINI Countryman E also saw robust demand.

On the two-wheeler front, BMW Motorrad logged 2,569 unit sales. The BMW G 310 RR remained the top choice among sportbike fans at entry level, while the 900 GS/GSA and 1300 GS/GSA dominated the adventure motorcycle segment. In the superbike segment, the BMW S 1000 RR held its top spot.

BMW Group India is investing ₹365.6 crore in its Retail.NEXT program, revamping its dealerships into modern, future-ready spaces across 33 cities and 56 locations. This retail model integrates advanced digital tools and immersive design to elevate customer engagement and luxury experience.
