MINI is best known for making exciting and joyful hatchbacks. The original MINI’s were extremely famous for their performance, they were particularly small but their size and low weight meant that they handled incredibly well and since they were so tiny, they would just zip past their opponents on corners.
Over the years things have changed drastically, MINI’s have gotten bigger for the better, more comfortable and way more practical compared to the original MINI’s. Some might say that the new cars have lost the original charm and character but the old MINI’s were not nearly as practical or reliable as the new ones. The small car premium segment has evolved to the next level. The MINI 3-door, 5-door and convertible have been refreshed and updated to stand out over their rivals and offer utmost thrill and luxury behind the wheel. 20 years after the launch of the modern MINI, the latest generation takes pride and presents itself in top form.
• Exterior :
The MINI 3-door, 5-door and convertible get a fairly expressive and refreshed front fascia. The new front grille is much larger, more attractive and gives the front end a sharper look. The position lights have now been replaced by the stylish yet functional air curtains that optimise aerodynamics. The central bumper strip now available in body colour rather than black looks much better.
The new and darkened LED headlights which look particularly sporty along with the characteristic rear lights in the Union Jack design make their way as standard equipments into the new range of MINI’s. The optional Adaptive LED headlights include smart gimmicks such as the cornering light which will illuminate the path you steer towards, the matrix high beam which prevents dazzling other road users and bad-weather light.
The unique Multitone roof and mirror caps are one of the most significant design features that have made MINI a forerunner when it comes to customisation. In addition to the Jet Black, Aspen White, Melting Silver and Chili Red paintwork for the MINI John Cooper Works, an innovative and globally unique variant of the roof paint finish is offered for the new MINI 3-door and 5-door. The new Multitone roof features a colour gradient from San Marino Blue through Pearly Aqua to Jet Black created with a new painting technique.
MINI’s are like bright and colourful skittles, the colour you opt for is important since after the distinctive shape it’s the colour that enhances the road presence of a MINI. Hence, in the new range of MINI’s the choice of body paint finishes include 3 new and exciting colours, Rooftop Grey Metallic, Island Blue Metallic and the bright Zesty Yellow, which was initially available only for the MINI convertible.
A new and renewed range of alloys such as the 17″ Tentacle Spoke black design, Scissor Spoke design which were previously available only for the MINI Sidewalk convertible and the black version of the Pedal Spoke variant which was exclusive to the 60 Years Edition models are now available for you to choose from. If you want to go bigger, there are the 18″ light alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke design that look absolutely stunning or you could opt for the sportier John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels in Circuit Spoke Black design.
• Cabin :
The cabin is extensively redesigned and underlines the British automobile manufacturer’s premium character. The hallmark central instrument has been optimised and really enhances the look of the cabin. A newly designed sports steering wheel integrated with multifunction buttons will be offered as standard on the new MINI 3-door, 5-door and convertible variants. An 8.8″ colour touchscreen display, touch-sensitive favourite buttons and Piano Black high-gloss surfaces are now available as standard.
To keep the central layout as simple and functional as possible and look less cluttered, the audio control unit and the function buttons for hazard warning lights and driver assistance system have been harmoniously integrated into the circular control unit.
• Engine :
Under the hood you can choose from a range of 3 and 4-cylinder engines all of which deliver power very efficiently. Their MINI TwinPower Turbo technology is made up of a turbocharging unit integrated into the exhaust manifold, direct petrol injection and variable valve timing.
