Volkswagen is raising the stakes with the introduction of the new, more dynamic ID.3 GTX Performance. Alongside the existing ID.3 GTX03, which delivers 210 kW (285 PS), the new ID.3 GTX Performance offers an impressive 240 kW (326 PS). This makes it the most powerful electric drive motor in Volkswagen’s lineup. The two GTX models effectively direct their power to the rear axle. Further, comprising a 79 kWh battery (net) placed in the sandwich floor, positioned centrally providing a low center of gravity and balanced axle load distribution. Especially, improvising the driving dynamics and handling that ensure a thrilling experience.

Advanced Powertrain and Battery Technology of ID.3 GTX

The ID.3 GTX Performance features an upgraded version of Volkswagen’s Performance drive system, boosting output from 210 kW in the ID.3 GTX to 240 kW. Both versions deliver a maximum torque of 545 Nm, surpassing that of Volkswagen’s most potent V6 turbocharged engines. As a first for the ID. family, the GTX Performance version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 secs with a top speed of 200 km/h.

Powered by a 79 kWh lithium-ion battery, supporting up to 185 kW of power at DC quick-charging stations. Thanks to the advanced charging and thermal management. Moreover, it takes approximately 26 minutes to recharge the battery from 10 to 80 percent. The ID.3 GTX Performance boasts a WLTP range of up to 601 km.

Enhanced Suspension and Handling

The GTX-specific suspension system is tuned for high performance, featuring stronger stabilizers. Further, a MacPherson front axle and a five-link rear axle is seen with an advanced guidance system. As a standard features, a progressive steering system is included that is adapted for the ID.3 GTX. An optional Sport DCC adaptive chassis control is available, utilizing an updated Vehicle Dynamics Manager for improved handling and roadholding through sophisticated algorithms.

Distinctive Design Features

The ID.3 GTX and ID.3 GTX Performance stand out with their unique design elements. The front bumper features a new diamond-style black air intake and custom signature lighting. The optional 20-inch Skagen GTX wheels come in black, and the interior boasts several GTX-specific customizations.

Advanced Infotainment and Operation

The ID.3 GTX Performance comprises a 12.9-inch display with IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT, and an enhanced operating concept. Basically, making it the latest software and infotainment system. Further, as optional features include an augmented reality head-up display, a revamped Wellness app, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

Standard and Optional Safety Systems

The ID.3 GTX comes equipped with a comprehensive range of safety and comfort systems, including cruise control, Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, Lane Assist, oncoming vehicle braking, and Dynamic Road Sign Display. The Car2X traffic hazard alert function is also available as a standard features.

Further, optional systems like Connected Travel Assist offer assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance, lane changing assistance on motorways, and lane guidance even without visible lane markings, provided online data is available.

Pricing and Availability of ID.3 GTX

The new ID.3 GTX cost including VAT is €52,295, across the German market.  Volkswagen is also offering a scrappage scheme with a value of €3,570 for all ID. models.
