Bajaj Auto Will Not Increase GST on KTM & Triumph Motorcycles

GST on Motorcycles

The GST slabs for motorbikes have been revised by the Indian government. Effective September 22, 2025, the GST on motorcycles with engine displacement above 350cc has been raised. The new GST rates for motorbikes in India are now in effect.

  1. Bikes under 350cc attract 18% GST (earlier 28%).
  2. Bikes above 350cc attract 40% GST (earlier 31%).

Bajaj Auto Will Not Increase GST on KTM & Triumph

Despite the GST increase, but in a surprising and customer-centric move, Bajaj Auto has announced that it will not raise the price of its KTM and Triumph motorcycles built in India with engines larger than 350cc.

These models are covered:

Triumph: Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Thruxton 400, Speed T4

Bike Model Ex-Showroom Price Delhi
Speed T4 ₹1,99,000 – ₹2,06,738
Triumph Speed 400 ₹2,50,551
Scrambler 400 X ₹2,67,731
Thruxton 400 ₹2,74,137
Scrambler 400 XC ₹2,94,671

Meanwhile, in this instance, Bajaj is taking on the additional tax burden associated with the KTM 390 line.

KTM: 390 Duke, RC 390, 390 Adventure, Enduro R, and related models

On the other hand, clients benefit from lower ex-showroom prices for bikes under 350cc due to lower GST (18%). Further, the duration of this price freeze has not been made clear.

Bike Model Ex-Showroom Price Delhi
KTM 390 Duke ₹2,97,443
RC 390 ₹3,22,719
390 Enduro R ₹3.36 to ₹3.38 lakh
390 Enduro R (Global-spec) ₹3,53,825
390 Adventure X ₹3,03,768
390 Adventure ₹3,67,700

Why this is important

It keeps more expensive yet “middle premium” bikes within reach. Especially, Triumph and KTM get an edge over competitors who might raise pricing. It might boost sales momentum, particularly since price increases tend to make purchasers pause. However, price increases by rival brands could cause them to lose market share. Stable prices in the 400cc category are advantageous, especially to customers.

Conclusion

The two-wheeler market has experienced mixed results from the new GST rates. Bajaj Auto has taken a different approach, even though many other manufactures might raise the price of bikes larger than 350cc. Further, this action improves Bajaj’s standing in the market.

Moreover, this indicates that the company is paying attention to customer sentiment. Additionally, it maintains these motorcycles’ aspirational appeal for Indian riders. It also demonstrates the company’s dedication to producing performance bikes that enthusiasts can still afford.
