Chevrolet introduced the Corvette CX Concept and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. These bold designs preview the brand’s vision for performance and style, building on Corvette’s seven-decade legacy while pointing toward its future.
Corvette CX Concept: Innovation on Road and Track
The Corvette CX Concept reimagines America’s iconic sports car with an all-electric setup. It features four independent motors generating over 2,000 horsepower, supported by torque vectoring for sharper cornering. A 90-kWh battery positioned within the chassis ensures balance and agility.
Its design is low, sleek, and purposeful. Elements like the forward-leaning nose, sculpted body lines, and jet-inspired canopy emphasize speed and aerodynamics. Active diffusers, fan-based downforce, and adaptive aero components further enhance stability at high speeds.
The Corvette CX Concept features a cabin designed with a futuristic look. The canopy opens forward for dramatic entry, while red ballistic textile seats and premium carbon fiber trim highlight the performance theme. A digital windshield projects performance data, and driver controls are seamlessly integrated into the steering wheel for maximum focus.
Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo: Racing Future
The Corvette CX Concept also gave rise to the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo – a racing version designed with motorsport at its core. Lighter and more aggressive, it adopts a race-ready stance with enhanced aerodynamics and a lowered profile. Its livery pays tribute to Corvette’s racing heritage with the classic yellow-and-black scheme.
This concept blends electric power with traditional racing power. A mid-mounted twin-turbo V8 engine revving up to 15,000 rpm works alongside three electric motors, together delivering around 2,000 hp. Running on renewable e-fuel, it brings Corvette’s racing legacy into the future.
Corvette CX Concept in Gran Turismo 7
Fans will soon have the chance to explore the Corvette CX Concept and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo in a virtual environment. Chevrolet, in collaboration with Polyphony Digital, will bring both cars to Gran Turismo 7. This digital debut allows fans worldwide to engage with Corvette’s future design direction on screen and on track.
Chevrolet blends its legacy with cutting-edge technology to shape the future of Corvette performance.
