Kinetic Engineering Robotic Chassis Line Launch in Pune

Kinetic Engineering Robotic Chassis

Pune, Maharashtra, September 3, 2025 – Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has introduced a state-of-the-art Robotic Chassis Line at its Ahilya Nagar plant in Maharashtra. This upgrade marks a big step forward in automation and will be central to producing the company’s Kinetic DX Electric scooter.

Kinetic Robotic Chassis Line Boosts Accuracy

Robotic welding machines, automated clamping systems, and a specialized unit for scooter frame assembly build the new Robotic Chassis Line. These features improve build quality, ensure consistent results, and raise overall output levels. Automation also minimizes mistakes and creates a safer and more reliable production environment.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of KEL, highlighted that the project shifts how India approaches manufacturing. He explained that integrating automation with precision and sustainable practices is key to making Indian manufacturing globally competitive.

New Systems for Efficient EV Production

Kinetic Engineering has introduced several facility enhancements along with the Robotic Chassis Line. The body panel line now uses hydraulic and mechanical presses, pneumatic clamping tools, and advanced welding equipment. These upgrades help maintain high accuracy and reliability during fabrication.

The company has also upgraded the painting division with a 7-stage coating system, including corrosion-resistant CED treatment and a metallic finish. This process ensures the DX EV achieves a premium look while staying durable over time.

Digitized Store for Smarter Operations

A newly developed digital store is now part of the facility, designed to streamline the supply of child frame parts. Workers carefully check each part and organize it into kits before it reaches the assembly line. This system reduces delays and keeps the Robotic Chassis Line operating smoothly.

Driving Indian Manufacturing Forward

Kinetic Engineering, with over five decades of expertise, continues to play a leading role in India’s automotive sector. Its Ahmednagar unit employs more than 1,000 people and houses hundreds of advanced machines. With the launch of the Robotic Chassis Line, the company is setting higher standards in automation, quality, and efficiency while strengthening its position in the growing EV industry.
