Italian Grand Prix 2025

Max Verstappen claimed a dominant victory at the Italian Grand Prix 2025, converting pole position into a race win at Monza. Red Bull’s driver crossed the line ahead of McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri after an eventful start and a nail-biting finish.

Verstappen Controls the Italian Grand Prix 2025

Verstappen and Norris went wheel-to-wheel at the race start, with the Red Bull driver cutting the first chicane to hold position. To avoid a penalty, he handed the lead to Norris on Lap 2 but quickly regained P1 with a decisive move a few laps later. From there, Verstappen managed his pace, executed an early pit stop, and never looked back.

His calm drive and controlled strategy earned him another top step of the podium, while Red Bull urged him over the radio to take no unnecessary risks.

McLaren Drama in the Italian Grand Prix 2025

Behind Verstappen, McLaren had its share of drama. A delayed pit stop for Norris allowed Piastri to snatch second place in the closing stages of the race. The team quickly ordered a swap, with Piastri moving aside to give Norris P2. The Australian settled for third, trimming his championship lead over Norris from 34 to 31 points.

Ferrari fans, meanwhile, were left disappointed as Charles Leclerc crossed the line fourth, unable to deliver a podium at home. George Russell finished fifth for Mercedes, while Lewis Hamilton battled back from a grid penalty to secure sixth.

Midfield Battles in the Italian Grand Prix 2025

Alex Albon put in an impressive performance to take seventh place for Williams, while Gabriel Bortoleto brought home eighth for Kick Sauber. Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar rounded out the top 10. The race also delivered close fights in the midfield, including contact between Carlos Sainz and Ollie Bearman, and wheel-to-wheel battles involving Tsunoda and Lawson.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin faced disappointment as Fernando Alonso retired with suspension damage, and Nico Hulkenberg was unable to start because of hydraulic problems.
