Volkswagen has officially unveiled the Volkswagen T-Roc World Premiere, introducing the second generation of its best-selling compact SUV. The new T-Roc features a striking design, innovative hybrid powertrains, and a premium cabin. Since its debut in 2017, customers have bought more than two million T-Roc units worldwide, making it a cornerstone of Volkswagen’s SUV lineup. The latest version aims to carry that success forward.
Volkswagen T-Roc World Premiere Showcases Bold Design
The world debut of the Volkswagen T-Roc showcases a bold and modern design. Developed from the ground up, the new model is 12 cm longer than its predecessor, offering improved proportions and a stronger road presence. The SUV retains its coupe-like rear styling while gaining a modern lighting signature.
Standard LED headlights are joined by optional IQ.LIGHT matrix units, connected to an illuminated Volkswagen logo via a slim light strip. At the rear, a continuous LED crossbar with a red logo reinforces its premium look. These design cues emphasize Volkswagen’s goal of blending practicality with style.
Premium Interior in the Volkswagen T-Roc World Premiere
Inside, the Volkswagen T-Roc World Premiere adds soft-touch surfaces, new fabric finishes, and ambient lighting for a lounge-like feel. A 13-inch infotainment display takes center stage, supported by advanced connectivity features and intuitive controls.
Volkswagen has taken inspiration from bigger models such as the Tiguan and Tayron, bringing in the newest version of driving experience control. Customers can select driving profiles, manage infotainment, and adjust functions with ease. A windscreen head-up display, available for the first time in the T-Roc, projects navigation and speed data directly in the driver’s line of sight.
Comfort, Space, and Technology
The new Volkswagen T-Roc is more spacious with more legroom from its longer design for a seating of five. The Style variant enhances comfort with a 14-way ergoActive seat featuring a massage function. Further, with a boot space that has been increased to 475 liters.
Under the skin, the T-Roc is built on the MQB evo platform, shared with the latest Tiguan. This enables cutting-edge driver-assistance systems like Travel Assist, which now supports automatic lane changes, and Park Assist Pro, allowing smartphone-controlled parking. Safety features such as exit warning alerts further enhance everyday usability.
Powertrains and Variants
The Volkswagen T-Roc generates 116 PS and 150 PS with two 48V mild hybrid drives (1.5 eTSI). Both engines pair with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Shortly after, Volkswagen will add two full-hybrid variants, along with a 2.0-liter mild-hybrid equipped with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
The lineup is simplified into four trims – Trend, Life, Style, and R-Line – each designed to balance functionality, comfort, design, or sportiness. Six color options, including the vibrant new Canary Yellow, give buyers strong personalization choices.
Market Launch of the Volkswagen T-Roc World Premiere
The Volkswagen T-Roc booking starts on August 28, with prices starting at €30,845 for the German buyers. Sales begin in November 2025. Volkswagen’s Palmela plant in Portugal builds these SUV’s for European buyers.
