BMW India has rolled out the BMW 3 Series 50 Jahre Editions to mark five decades of its most iconic model. The special lineup includes the BMW 330Li M Sport and the BMW M340i, with just 50 units of each produced. BMW Group Plant Chennai manufactures these editions locally, and BMW offers them exclusively through its Online Shop.
Exclusive Highlights of BMW 3 Series 50 Jahre
The BMW 3 Series 50 Jahre Editions bring unique touches inside and out. The 330Li M Sport stands apart with gloss black accents, carbon fibre details, a head-up display featuring 3D augmented navigation, and a unique “1/50” laser-engraved badge. The price is set at ₹64 lakh (ex-showroom).
The M340i 50 Jahre Edition receives sportier styling elements such as special anniversary emblems, blacked-out fender badges, unique hubcaps, and an M Performance key fob. This version is priced at ₹76.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers will also get a collectible 1:18 scale model of the BMW 3.0 CSL.
Performance of BMW 3 Series 50 Jahre
The BMW 3 Series deliver strong performance across both variants. The 330Li draws power from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds.
In contrast, the M340i features a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine that generates 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque. With an acceleration time of 4.4 seconds for 0–100 km/h, it remains one of the fastest locally built cars in India.
Design and Interior
The BMW 3 Series also bring distinctive styling. The 330Li gets adaptive LED headlamps, a curved display, comfort seats, and a panoramic glass roof that adds a roomy feel.
The M340i highlights performance with a black mesh grille, blue-accented adaptive lights, 19-inch alloys, and red brake calipers. Inside, it offers Vernasca leather sport seats, a curved display, and an M steering wheel with a red centre marker.
