The Cadillac F1 Team has made a bold statement ahead of its debut in 2026 by signing two of the sport’s most experienced and successful drivers. Ten-time Grand Prix winner Valtteri Bottas and six-time Grand Prix winner Sergio “Checo” Perez will lead the American manufacturer into its first season in Formula 1®.

Between them, Bottas and Perez bring over 500 race starts, more than 100 podium finishes, and unmatched technical knowledge to the Cadillac F1 Team. Their presence offers the perfect mix of speed, consistency, and leadership. Especially, to guide a brand-new team into the most competitive motorsport arena in the world.

Bottas expressed his excitement about joining the project. Further, describing Cadillac’s entry as more than just a racing effort but a long-term vision. Perez, meanwhile, called it a proud moment to be part of a team that aims to represent the spirit of the Americas on the Formula 1 stage.

Building the Formula 1 Team

The project has the support of General Motors and TWG Motorsports. The Cadillac F1 Team will operate across three motorsport hubs – Fishers in Indiana, Charlotte in North Carolina, and Silverstone in the UK. This global approach blends American engineering strength with European racing expertise.

Team Principal Graeme Lowdon said signing Bottas and Perez shows intent, highlighting their experience and team-building skills. TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss added that both are proven racers and leaders who can shape the team’s identity.

For Cadillac Formula 1 marks the next step in its motorsport legacy. Mark Reuss, President of GM, underlined the purpose behind the move, stating that the drivers form the backbone of this promising new era.

With Bottas and Perez on board, the Cadillac F1 Team is preparing for an exciting debut season in 2026. Further, aiming to make its mark on the global stage and inspire fans across the Americas.
