Honda has officially launched its first electric motorcycle, the Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle, in Europe. This new model marks a significant step in the brand’s commitment to carbon neutrality and its vision of electrified two-wheel mobility.
Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle: A New Era
Honda designed the WN7 as a naked model under its “Be the Wind” concept. It is the production version of the EV Fun Concept showcased at EICMA 2024 in Milan. The WN7 combines over 75 years of Honda’s motorcycle development expertise with the latest electric technology to deliver an engaging yet sustainable ride.
Honda has positioned 2024 as the first year of global expansion for its electric motorcycles. Further, with the WN7, Honda strengthens its push into the growing EV segment, aiming to meet the diverse demands of riders across commuting and leisure categories.
Performance of the Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle
The Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle offers a range of over 130 km on a single charge. It is powered by a fixed lithium-ion battery and supports CCS2 fast charging. Riders can charge the bike from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes using rapid charging. For home charging, a full charge completes in less than three hours.
In terms of performance, the WN7 stands out. It delivers output comparable to 600cc internal combustion engine motorcycles, while its torque rivals that of 1000cc models. This ensures that the motorcycle offers both smooth urban rides and the thrill of open-road adventures.
Features and Design of the Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle
The WN7 Electric Motorcycle comes with a slim, futuristic design that reflects its EV identity. A 5-inch TFT display integrates seamlessly with Honda RoadSync, allowing riders to stay connected through smartphone compatibility. The design not only enhances usability but also aligns with Honda’s vision of modern electric mobility.
Honda’s Environmental Vision
Honda is targeting full carbon neutrality for its motorcycle products by the 2040s. The launch of the Honda WN7 Electric Motorcycle reinforces its commitment to a sustainable future while ensuring riding remains fun and exciting. The company will continue expanding its EV lineup, from daily commuters to advanced Fun models.
