Kinetic has re-entered the Indian two-wheeler space with the launch of the all-new Kinetic DX, an electric scooter that blends retro appeal with futuristic features. The scooter is priced at ₹1.11 lakh for the standard model and ₹1.17 lakh for the DX+ variant. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹1,000, and deliveries will commence in September 2025.
Kinetic DX – Powertrain & Range
The Kinetic DX is powered by a 4.8 kW hub-mounted motor paired with a 2.6 kWh LFP battery pack. This setup allows the standard DX to offer an IDC-certified range of up to 102 km and the DX+ to stretch up to 116 km. With cruise lock engaged at slower speeds, the real-world range can extend to 150 km. Top speeds are pegged at 80 km/h for the base variant and 90 km/h for the DX+.
Charging is hassle-free with an onboard charger stored inside the under-seat compartment. The battery charges up to 50% in two hours and takes about four hours for a full charge.
Design and Features of Kinetic DX
Inspired by its iconic predecessor, the new DX retains a familiar boxy silhouette with modern touches. The front end features a distinct flyscreen, metal body panels, LED DRLs, and signature branding. The dash includes an 8.8-inch digital display that mirrors the retro dial layout, complete with Bluetooth support, onboard speakers, and navigation alerts.
The scooter features a roomy 37-litre under-seat storage compartment, a USB charging port, and convenient flip-style footrests. Keyless ignition, cruise control, reverse mode, and hill-hold assist are standard, enhancing convenience for daily riders.
Smart Connectivity
The DX+ variant introduces smart features through a connected suite, including geofencing, live tracking, OTA updates, and remote diagnostics. Riders can use voice commands for music and navigation, access real-time analytics, and even receive birthday greetings in multiple languages.
Suspension & Brakes
Further, with telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers equip the DX, delivering a smooth and stable ride. It rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels and comes equipped with a 220 mm front disc brake and rear drum brake with CBS. Regenerative braking further improves efficiency during commutes.
Kinetic DX – Warranty & After-Sales
Kinetic offers the DX with a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty, extendable up to 9 years or 1,00,000 km. This long-term assurance underlines the brand’s commitment to reliability and user satisfaction.
Market Outlook
The Kinetic DX enters a competitive EV market, going up against rivals like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ola S1. Its nostalgic design, robust features, and strong focus on reliability position the DX to attract both old-school fans and modern electric commuters.
