Mahindra Racing has announced its Mahindra GEN4 Commitment as the team steps into the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s new era starting in the 2026/27 season. The move strengthens Mahindra’s long-standing presence in all-electric racing and sets the tone for its future goals.

Mahindra GEN4 Commitment Marks a New Chapter

Mahindra Racing revealed its GEN4 decision during the launch of the new M12Electro in India. The team has been part of Formula E since 2013 and remains the only founding team on the grid in its original form.
Over 12 years, Mahindra has secured five wins, 29 podiums and crossed 1,000 championship points.

The Mahindra GEN4 Commitment ensures the team continues its journey till at least 2030, as it aims to grow stronger under CEO and Team Principal Frederic Bertrand.

Performance Gains Drive

Mahindra’s recent rise has been powered by the re-engineered M11Electro, with Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara earning five podiums in Season 11.
Moreover, the new M12Electro aims to maintain this momentum and target regular top-five finishes.

GEN4 introduces a major performance leap with:

  • 450 kW peak race power
  • 600 kW ATTACK MODE
  • 700 kW regenerative braking
  • Up to 55 kWh race energy

Mahindra Racing remains the first Formula E team to earn FIA Three-Star Accreditation. Further, its ‘Planet Positive’ initiative continues to support communities, drive economic development and deliver climate-positive impact.

Mahindra Group leadership reaffirmed that GEN4 aligns with its Race-to-Road philosophy, enabling faster innovation in EV powertrains, software and sustainable materials.
