Maruti Suzuki Victoris

Maruti Suzuki India has unveiled its all-new SUV, the Victoris, marking a major expansion of its product lineup. With this launch, the automaker steps into the growing mid-sized SUV market with a tech-loaded offering that caters to modern buyers. The company is betting big on India’s young population to fuel demand for the Victoris and other SUVs in its portfolio.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris joins SUV lineup

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the latest addition to the company’s SUV family, which includes models like the Fronx, Brezza, Jimny, and Grand Vitara. With the Victoris, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen its presence in the competitive mid-sized SUV category, a segment that has seen double-digit growth in India over the past few years.

SUVs are now the top choice for Indian customers, thanks to their road presence, spacious interiors, and practicality. Maruti Suzuki expects Victoris to strike a balance between style, performance, and advanced technology.

First Maruti Suzuki with Level-2 ADAS

One of the biggest highlights of the Victoris is the introduction of Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This is the first Maruti Suzuki model to feature the technology. The suite includes safety features such as emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and more, making it one of the most advanced offerings from the brand to date.

Under-floor mounted CNG tank

Another first is the under-floor mounted CNG tank, a feature Maruti Suzuki customers have long demanded. Unlike conventional designs that reduce boot capacity, the Victoris’ CNG tank sits neatly under the trunk floor, freeing up valuable luggage space. This design takes a page from competitors like Hyundai and Tata Motors, but gives Maruti its own edge in practicality.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris gets gesture control

Maruti Suzuki has also equipped the Victoris with a powered tailgate for the first time. Owners can access the boot using either the key fob or a quick kick-to-open motion. Although the brand has not yet revealed the boot volume, it emphasized that improving luggage space was a major focus after receiving feedback from Grand Vitara customers.

Largest displays on a Maruti

The Victoris also debuts the company’s largest-ever infotainment and instrument displays. The SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen system comes with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and OTA updates. Adding to the premium feel, the SUV gets a fully digital 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a first for Maruti Suzuki.

Premium sound system

Maruti Suzuki Victoris packs an 8-speaker surround sound system from Infinity, featuring Dolby Atmos 5.1 channel support. This is a big step up from earlier Maruti models, which traditionally offered simpler sound setups.

India’s youth key to SUV growth

At the launch event, Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Hisaschi Takeuchi said that India’s young demographic will play a key role in driving future growth. He pointed out that India has the world’s largest youth population, who represent both today’s and tomorrow’s customers.

Strengthening SUV strategy

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris, equipped with ADAS, advanced infotainment, and improved practicality. Moreover, it takes on rivals like Hyundai, Kia, and Tata Motors in the mid-sized SUV segment. Analysts believe that the model will strengthen Maruti’s SUV portfolio and help expand its market share in the months ahead.
