MXGP of Türkiye Sets Stage for Final Title Battles

MXGP of Türkiye

The MXGP of Türkiye returns this weekend at the Afyon Sports Centre. It kicks off the final three weeks of the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship. With the titles in MXGP, MX2, and WMX still undecided, this round could define the season.

MXGP of Türkiye: The Championship Battle

The MXGP of Türkiye has a rich history, first held in 2009 and staged in Afyonkarahisar since 2018. Riders like Jeffrey Herlings, Tim Gajser, and Jorge Prado have claimed wins here.

Romain Febvre tops the MXGP standings this year with 835 points for Kawasaki. Lucas Coenen is just 31 points behind after a strong double win in the Netherlands. Jeffrey Herlings, fresh off a victory in Britain, could also shake things up at Afyon.

MXGP of Türkiye: MX2 Gets Intense

The MX2 fight tightens at the MXGP of Türkiye. Simon Längenfelder holds the lead with 783 points, just 15 clear of Kay de Wolf. Andrea Adamo trails by 23 points and hopes to close the gap on his preferred hardpack surface.

With three riders in contention, the Turkish round may prove decisive before the season finale in Australia.

Women’s MX at Türkiye

The MXGP of Türkiye also hosts the penultimate Women’s World Championship race. Lotte van Drunen leads by 20 points, but Kiara Fontanesi and Daniela Guillen are close behind. All three have won at Afyon before, making this battle one to watch.

EMX250 Title on the Line

The EMX250 Championship will likely be decided in Türkiye. Latvia’s Janis Reisulis has a 38-point lead. An eighth-place finish in race one is all he needs to secure the title.

Why Türkiye Matters

The MXGP of Türkiye is known for its tough, physical track. It has produced some of the most exciting races in recent years. With every class still open, this weekend could be the turning point of the 2025 season.
