Volkswagen has unveiled the Volkswagen ID CROSS Concept at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The new compact SUV is designed to make electric mobility more affordable while offering advanced technology and a fresh design language.

The Volkswagen ID CROSS is the fourth model in the brand’s small and compact EV campaign, following the ID.2all, ID. GTI Concept, and ID. EVERY1. CROSS is set to premiere in summer 2026, strengthening Volkswagen’s presence in the entry-level EV segment.

Design and Dimensions of the Volkswagen ID. CROSS

The Volkswagen ID CROSS Concept introduces a new design philosophy called “Pure Positive.” The compact SUV measures 4,161 mm in length and offers a spacious interior with 450 litres of boot space plus an additional 25 litres in the front trunk. Despite its compact dimensions, the ID. CROSS provides comfort for families and is practical for both city and long-distance use.

The interior creates a lounge-like ambience with fabric finishes, ambient lighting, and foldable seats that transform into a reclining space inspired by the classic VW Bus.

Volkswagen ID CROSS Technical Highlights

Built on the updated MEB+ platform, the Volkswagen ID CROSS Concept is powered by a 155 kW (211 PS) motor with front-wheel drive. Further, it offers an estimated WLTP range of up to 420 km and a top speed of 175 km/h.

The SUV is also designed with practicality in mind, featuring a 75 kg drawbar load for carrying e-bikes and a towing capacity of up to 1,200 kg.
