New Delhi : Tata Motors, India’s foremost commercial vehicle manufacturer, has delivered 400 cutting-edge Starbus EV buses to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). This is through its subsidiary, TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. This forms a part of a larger contract with the DTC, encompassing the supply, maintenance, and operation of 1,500 low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses for a 12-year duration.

These zero-emission buses, aligned with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. Moreover, these are constructed domestically using state-of-the-art technology, incorporating the latest features and advanced battery systems. To provide a safe, comfortable, and convenient means of intra-city transportation within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. With this achievement, Tata Motors crosses a significant milestone by delivering more than 1,000 e-buses nationwide.

Shri. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, and Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated and flagged off the fleet of 400 e-buses on 5th September. The event was attended by other notable dignitaries, including Shri Kailash Gahlot, Minister of Law, Revenue, Transport, Women & Child Development, Information Technology, and Administrative Reform, Government of Delhi, Shri Naresh Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Delhi, Shri Ashish Kundra, Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary (Transport) Government of Delhi, and Ms. Shilpa Shinde, IAS, Managing Director, DTC.

DTC is dedicated to providing efficient, cost-effective, and dependable road transport services to the people of Delhi. The inclusion of these 400 electric buses will not only enhance mass mobility but also make it safer, smarter, and more eco-friendly across the National Capital Territory. Besides offering easier access, greater comfort, and enhanced convenience to commuters. These next-generation buses will contribute to our collective efforts to enhance the city’s air quality.”
