• Introduction
When it comes to popular and economic cars in India, the Swift stands upfront as being one of the best selling cars to go on sale. It is indeed the best-selling hatch by Maruti Suzuki. For 2021 however, the new and updated Swift has been launched in India and it’s amazing. The Swift has been a strong competitor in its segment, satisfying all its customers and attracting more. But what’s important is that by the time it just gets better, more ergonomic and technologically advanced. The new Swift gets an updated front grille that now has a mesh pattern, a range of include dual-tone exterior shades to choose from which can be opted for with the ZXi+ trim level, which is new for 2021. The three dual-tone options include, Pearl Arctic White and Solid Fire Red matched to a Pearl Midnight Black roof and Midnight Blue with an Arctic White roof. Along with these goodies on the exterior, the Swift also gets 15″ precision-cut alloy wheels that are very stylish. Along with these new and new and refreshed updates, there is indeed a hike in its pricing, although not by an exorbitant amount.

• Cabin
Behind the wheel is where you’d spend most of your time and hence the cabin has to have the ability to make it up to you by comforting you with everything it has to offer, making it through the busy streets, narrow lanes and noisy neighbourhoods. For starters you get a good looking cabin that feels good to be in, the silver ornamentation running throughout the cabin, twin-pod instrument cluster with a coloured 4.2″ TFT display. The all-new Swift also gets Cruise control, idle start-stop and key synchronised auto foldable OVRM’s for the first time. Safety features such as Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and ISOFIX anchorage points make their way into the new Swift. The interior is well built and pretty comfortable.

• Engine and transmission
The most significant update is the engine, the Swift uses an all-new K-series Dual-Jet, Dual VVT, 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission producing 90PS of power and 113NM of torque. An optional 5-speed automatic is available. The heart of the Swift is peppy and delivers a decent amount of power for the kind of vehicle it is, not a fast or thrilling vehicle to drive but it does its job of being a daily driver really well with those performance figures. Having a smaller engine means that the Swift offers great fuel efficiency which is the most important factor that one looks into before purchasing a vehicle in India.

• Conclusion
If you’re looking for a reasonable and economic hatch that’s got the popularity and dependability, look no further, the all-new Swift is the car for you.
