Volvo Car India made an exciting announcement, unveiling their latest addition to the electric vehicle lineup, the C40 Recharge. This sleek and stylish electric SUV is set to hit the Indian market in August, with customer deliveries commencing in September. Volvo already offers another electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge, but the C40 Recharge stands out as a born electric vehicle, purposefully designed and developed as an electric car from the ground up, unlike its counterpart.
The India-spec Volvo C40 Recharge is built on the compact modular architecture (CMA) platform. Featuring a powerful twin motor setup with a combined output of 408 horsepower and 660 Newton-meters of torque. Generating an impressive performance of 78-kilowatt-hour battery, which provides ample power to propel the vehicle. On a single full charge, the C40 Recharge boasts a claimed range of 530 kilometers according to the WLTP testing cycle. Furthermore, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.7 seconds. With all-wheel drive as standard, the C40 Recharge ensures a thrilling and confident driving experience.

Booking of the Volvo C40 Recharge shall be through the company’s website. However, the interested buyers will have to wait for the cost announcement. Though, the deliveries of this electric SUV will take place through authorized Volvo dealerships across the country. Volvo Car India has set ambitious goals for the future, aiming to have 100% electrified vehicles in their portfolio by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2040.
