BMW India premiered an exclusive ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ of the BMW 6 Series in India. Produced at the BMW Group Plant Chennai, the Limited Edition shall be available in a petrol variant.

Further to the recent announcement by BMW India of launching 10 exclusive ‘50 Jahre M Editions’ to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of M.

The BMW 6 Series has been a benchmark in the executive sedan category. Further, the viability of a crossover, dynamics of a sports car, silhouette of a fastback and the luxury of a sedan. Moreover, the combined features of M take its superior character to new heights.

The BMW 6 Series ‘50 Jahre M Edition’

The exterior design of the 6 Series flows seamlessly into the front headlights creating a sharp angular expression. Moreover, inspired by the classic ‘BMW Motorsport’ logo placed with pride right above the BMW Kidney Grille is the iconic M Emblem. It signals the passion for racing and the roots of the BMW M. The M emblem embellishes the front logo and rear logo along with the wheel hub caps. The newly added BMW Laserlight makes it unique in its segment, further, it distributes light to perfection up to 650 meters. On the sides, the slope-like roofline flows with coupe elegance. Moreover, the rear is modern and broad impressing the muscular lines, charismatic rear-light design and freeform tailpipes.

The BMW 630i M Sport Limited Edition shall be available in colors such as Tanzanite Blue Metallic, Bernina Grey Amber Effect, M Carbon Black and Mineral White, combined with Natural Leather Dakota upholstery in Cognac finish with contrast stitches.

Additionally, a sporting character can be added for every detail with an optional M Accessories Package. The Motorsport Package offers an exterior upgrade. That comprises of BMW Kidney Grille in High Gloss Black, Key Fob in Carbon Fibre and Alcantara along with 19”- 647 M Light alloy wheels in Jet black.

The Comfort Access System opens all doors and starts the vehicle with the press of a button. Further, the tailgate can be opened or closed by a quick wave of the foot under the rear bumper. Additionally, making the BMW 630i M Sport Limited Edition luxurious are features like Rear-Seat Entertainment Experience screens, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and Soft-Close function for doors.

The aura of ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ is apparent once entered the vehicle. Moreover, easing into the Sport Seating in Natural Leather Dakota with M Seatbelts invites the ultimate driving experience. The fully electric adjusted seats  come with memory function at front on both side. Further at the back seats, the bench has an electrically adjustable backrest angle. The electrically adjusted roller sunblinds and comfort headrest cushions add extra comfort for longer journeys.

Engine

Moreover, the BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, the petrol engine generates maximum power with exemplary efficiency and spontaneous responsiveness even at low engine speeds. The two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW 630i melds max output of 258 hp and max torque of 400 Nm with 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.5 secs.

The eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission performs seamless, almost imperceptible gearshifts. Further, it gets steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with a braking function. The standard Adaptive two-axle Air Suspension with its self-levelling feature ensures constant height irrespective of the load. That provides great comfort with extreme sporting capability. The damper response settings depend on the mode selected with the Driving Experience Control switch.  It allows the driver to select between different modes that suit the driving conditions. The modes are Comfort, Comfort+, Sport, Sport+ and Adaptive.

The entertainment element complements the long journeys with comfort. The rear-seat Entertainment Professional includes 10.25” touchscreen monitors with full-HD technology, screen mirroring and two USB ports. Further, the High-end 16 speaker with woofers system generates an impressive audio experience.

Further, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7.0 comprises 3D Navigation, a 12.3” digital instrument display and 12.3” Control Display. Moreover, numerous functions can be operated by speaking to the BMW Virtual Assist. The center console is integrated with a smartphone holder allowing inductive, Wireless Charging for mobile phones. Additionally, Wireless Apple CarPlay® / Android Auto ensures a seamless connection with the car to access additional functions.
