BMW has officially launched the brand-new, third-generation BMW X1 in India at the BMW Joytown festival in Bengaluru. Just like the previous generation model, the new X1 continues to come with both the petrol and diesel engines. The luxury BMW SUV will be available in two different variants. XLine and M Sport while the car is exclusively based on the FAAR architecture.

BMW CONNECTED DRIVE & DIGITAL HIGHLIGHTS
The BMW X1 aces the digital front like no other! The vehicle comes with intelligent smartphone integration that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a seamless wireless connection. Furthermore, the SUV also boasts the BMW Digital Key Plus. That allows the user to lock/unlock the car automatically and hassle-free through the smartphone. The My BMW App lets users now check vehicle status, remotely control the car, or even locate the car.
Further it exhibits a widescreen curved display with a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument that comprehensively comes with touch functionality. In addition to this, the SUV boasts its HiFi loudspeaker system exclusively by Harman Kardon.
EXTERIORS (WITH COLOURS)

POWERTRAIN & PERFORMANCE
The SUV is available with both the petrol and diesel engine options in India. The petrol variant is a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder unit that comprehensively produces 136 hp and 230 Nm of torque. Whereas, the diesel variant gets a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit generating a whopping 150 hp and 360 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Wherein, the diesel unit comes with 7-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The petrol version of the BMW X1 can sprint from about 0-100kph in 9.2sec. While the diesel version can do the same in nearly 8.9sec. Moreover, the petrol version returns an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of about 16.3kpl, while the diesel version offers 20.37 kpl.

The prices of the BMW X1 start from Rs. 45.90 lakhs for the petrol version while it goes up to Rs. 47.90 lakhs for the diesel version. BMW India has reportedly stated that deliveries for the diesel-powered BMW X1 will commence in March 2023. While the deliveries for the petrol version will begin in June 2023. The most sought-after BMW X1 is said to rival the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3, and Volvo XC40, among others.
