Last week was a launch week for BMW Motorrad with three bike launches. The all-new BMW F 900 XR and the BMW F 850 GS. The adventure sports tourer is the perfect blend of Touring Capabilities and Sportiness. The all-new BMW F 900 XR is stylish with sporty design and dynamics combined with astonishing performance.
A pertinacious blend of Touring capabilities and Sportiness is what the ‘XR’ exemplify. The design portrays sheer performance and comfort for long-distance travel. Further, the design of the bike ensures the rider’s position is active, yet relaxed. The LED headlights of the bike signifies a commanding nature with their striking light. Moreover, the detailed edges characterise the aggressive design of the bike wherein, the slim and short tail cites its athletic character.

Engine & Performance

Powered by a water-cooled four-stroke in-line two-cylinder 895cc BSVI engine. That comprises 4 valves per cylinder, 2 overhead camshafts and dry-sump lubrication. It generates an output of 105 hp at 8500 rpm and max torque of 92 Nm at 6500 rpm. Further, the engine intensifies sporty riding dynamics and pleasure. The high torque engine delivers the right speed range that just compliments the power. In just 3.6secs the bike moves from 0-100km/hr with a top speed of over 200 km/hr.

Moreover, creating a benchmark in the mid-range segment is the technology-driven Suspension. The bridge frame blends the 2-cylinder in-line engine as a load-bearing component and is built of strong steel parts. The reversed telescopic fork controls the front wheel whereas, the central suspension strut with a double-sided swing arm controls the rear wheel. The short silencer beneath exhibits an athletic look with a discrete rear wheel.

Features & Technology

The BMW F 900 XR comes with a 6.5” full-colour TFT multifunctional instrument cluster screen. The Multi-Controller offers quick access of the bike to the rider and connectivity functions. The Bluetooth connectivity eases making calls and playing music.

Moreover, the new standard features of the new BMW F 900 XR Pro range offer Dynamic ESA, Keyless Ride and a centre stand as a standard part of the Comfort package. Headlight Pro, Daytime Riding Lights and Gear Shift Assist Pro in the Dynamic Package. Further, the Active Package comprises Dynamic Engine Brake Control (MSR), Riding Modes Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Heated Grips, ABS Pro and case holders.

Further, to ensure safety while riding at night the Adaptive Cornering Lights enhance the illumination of the road when cornering.
Additional, a wide range of equipment and original BMW Motorcycle accessories can be availed for further customization of the new BMW F 900 XR as per individuals.

Conclusion

The adventure sports tourers are completely built-up units (CBU) and are open for booking at BMW Motorrad dealerships. The ex-showroom price of the all-new BMW F900 XR Pro is INR. 12.30lacs. Though the deliveries of the all-new BMW F 900 XR shall commence only in June 2022.
